Chad speaks, predicts: ‘My best year ever!’

CHAD JOHNSON BREAKS SILENCE

AFTER MONDAY NIGHT PRACTICE

===LUDWIG AT LARGE ALERT! Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson — who caught a 50-yard TD pass from QB Carson Palmer in practice on Monday night — spoke to the Bengals media afterward for the first time since Oct. 22, 2007.

Chick Ludwig of the Dayton Daily News and Geoff “Butch” Hobson of Bengals.com were there to capture Chad on tape. I haven’t seen Chad this excited, this fired up, this ‘amped’ in a long time.===

IN CHAD’S WORDS:

“When I step on the field, the defense is my enemy. The DBs all suck. When I’m done with them, they all will be Hall of Famers.

“I’m so glad to be back out there. They (the defense) got me right. They’re talking. They’re in my head. Leon (Hall) talking to me; J-Joe (Johnathan Joseph) talking to me; Dexter (Jackson) is trying to knock my head off. It’s just fun to be able to come back.

“They aren’t cutting me any slack. They don’t care nothing about my ankle. If I get D’d up (defended), they’re in my chest. If I kill ‘em, I’m gonna let you know I killed you. My whole mental state is right.

“Did you see me? This morning, my first day back — in what, for 4-5 months? — it was my first of anything. But the second practice? The ankle is strong.

“It’s going to take me the month of August to do what it takes everybody else 4-5 months to do. I’m going to put together the best year ever — period. Case closed.

“It will be my healthiest in the last three (years). I needed this surgery a long time ago. Remember: THE BEST YEAR EVER!

Jared this is a Bengals site not a squealers site.I have no doubt like most squealer fans you will jump ship when they go down the tubes. I am glad Chad is focused on football and not pouting for all BENGALS fans this is good news!

The Bengals have a shot at winning the division this year. If they can stay healthy and the defense is in the lower to middle teens, we will be playoff bound!!!

Howie Feltersnatch First when you talk about jumping ship, bengal fans are the first to step up. Steelers fans are the most loyal fans in the NFL. Second, the only thing CJ can focus on is himself.
