Jeremi Johnson’s out … standing

YOU MAKE THE CALL

ON JEREMI’S PROGRESS

===LUDWIG AT LARGE sees better than he hears. Sound like anyone else you know?===

Personally, I thought overweight Bengals fullback Jeremi Johnson was struggling.

Under the supervision of strength and conditioning coaches Chip Morton and Ray “Rock” Oliver, Jeremi was attempting to run four 10-yard dashes on the main field, and fighting to get through ‘em.

I watched him go 3 or 4 yards, then basically pull up.

After completing that exercise, Jeremi was asked to walk up the steep grass hill that leads from the main field to the conference center at Georgetown College.

Well, not just walk, but use long strides to stretch out his leg muscles.

Folks, it was painful to watch.

Head coach Marvin Lewis sees Johnson’s rehab differently.

When asked for an update on Chip & Ray’s newest client, Lewis said:

“He’s with them day every day and he’s been outstanding. When I feel good about where he is and we feel like he’s passed his physical, we’ll allow Jeremi to come back and practice with pads on or practice whatever the dress of the day is of the football team.”

Demoted to third string behind Daniel Coats and Bradley Glatthaar, J.J. is in a desperate fight to trim his weight, get in shape, improve his physical condition and make the squad.

I don’t see any way in the world J.J. sticks on the 53-man roster.

For now, he’s Out … Standing.

Isn’t this kind of like someone coming to work completely wasted and his manager having several co-workers pump the drunk full coffee and walk him around the building a few laps hoping that he’ll sober up enough to be productive for the second half of the day? What an awesome work environment!!!

Obviously not much commitment to the team or himself to be in that bad of shape. I can’t see him hoggin (no pun intended) up a roster spot if he’s going to be unproductive.

I like JJ a lot but i did think he was very effective last season. I think Coats will do an ‘Outstanding’ job.

Chad needs to remember who is paying his salary and get with the team spirit.Being over weight only reenforces his self centered attitude. THEY NEED TO GET RID OF HIM.

Chad is going to be great this year. You have the wrong Johnson. Jeremi pulls this garbage every year and basically his roster spot should be gone the moment the first cut arrives. Time for babysitting is over. The motto afterall is “Now.”

This is the kind of thing the drives me nuts with the Bengals. They must have seen that Johnson was heavy at the mini-camps. Why not fix the problem at that time instead of waiting until training camp. Crazy!!!

Shaun Alexander? Are you joking? He has lost his “desire to play a contact sport” according to Holmgren. Johnson is a disgrace and if he shows up this fat he is stealing his paycheck.

Shaun Alexander? Chad Johnson? Man, we need a class on reading, and one on the Bengals roster, Kenny, Chris, and DeDe are waiting in the wings, Shaun Alexander, wow…
