Interactive hamster among cheaper options on Toys R Us’ holiday hot list
Every year, Toys R Us releases its Holiday Hot Toy List comprised of the toys that the company believes will be on the wish lists of many kids this Christmas and Hanukkah.
The list is “filled with 36 items — new this year — that offer outstanding value in quality, price and play,” according to the company press release.
But, this year, there is a definite shift in emphasis, as reflected by quotes from Karen Dodge, the Toys R Us senior vice president and chief merchandising officer in the U.S.
Last year, Dodge said the Hot List focused on being “ultimate list of items certain to bring big smiles to kids’ faces.”
This year, Dodge said, “with toys spanning every price point, parents will have lots of affordable fun options to choose from this holiday season at Toys R Us.”
And, as CNBC noted today, Sept. 24, toy makers want to do what they can to avoid the dismal sales of last year.
There are 36 items on this year’s Holiday Hot Toy List, and a Fabulous 15 within that list. The Fabulous 15, which includes an interactive hamster for less than $10, are:
— Bakugan Battle Brawlers 7-in-1 from Spin Master ($39.99)
— ChixOs Pink Design-A-Luxury Loft from Spin Master ($26.99)
— Color Me a Song from Crayola Beginnings ($24.99)
— Disney Netpal from ASUS (which is a computer for $349.99)
— Disney-Pixar Toy Story Interactive Buddies Talking Action Figures from Thinkway ($99.99)
— Disney Princess: Just One Kiss Princess Tiana Doll from Mattel (Not available until October, but should be in $24.99 range.)
— Fast Lane JLX Overdrive Radio Control All-Terrain Vehicle from Toys R Us ($119.99)
— Laugh & Learn Learning Farm from Fisher-Price ($79.99)
— Little Mommy Baby Ah-Choo from Fisher-Price ($34.99)
— Mindflex from Mattel ($79.99)
— NERF N-Strike Raider Rapid Fire CS-3 from Hasbro ($34.99)
— Star Wars Fan’s Choice Anniversary Edition Home One Mon Calamari Star Cruiser from LEGO ($109.99)
— Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Construction Devastator from Hasbro ($99.99)
— Wii Sports Resort from Nintendo ($49.99)
— Zhu Zhu Pets Hamster from Cepia ($9.99)

A little off topic, Guys… I have a question. Last week I played around this site: Rivalspot.com - Ps3 Live Tournaments They say you can play online NCAA Basketball game tournaments on any console for cash… had anyone tried that before? Looks like a cool idea… Are there any other sites where you can play sports games for real moneys? I Googled and found only Bringit.com and Worldgaming.com but it looks these guys don’t specialize in sport gamez. Any suggestions?
