Second Fuddruckers also closed

Click here for the entry about Valentine’s Day Restaurant Specials.

The Fuddrucker’s restaurant at 2476 Commons Blvd. near the Mall at Fairfield Commons in Beavercreek has closed, apparently even before the companion restaurant behind the Dayton Mall did.

Fuddruckers Beavercreek4.JPG
The former Fuddruckers in Beavercreek

Last week, my reporting colleague Lucas Sullivan reported that the Fuddruckers near the Dayton Mall had closed. He got emails from a few Beavercreek-area residents telling him that the Beavercreek restaurant had also shut its doors. Turns out a sign on the door of the Beavercreek restaurant refers customers to the Dayton Mall-area location.

I attempted to contact officials at the Austin, Texas-based Fuddruckers over the course of two days to ask what led to the closings, how many employees were affected, etc. Phone messages left on the voicemail of the assistant to CEO Peter Large and COO Ralph Flannery on two consecutive mornings yielded no return call, nor did a phone message left with another Fuddruckers official who oversees franchise opportunities. I also attempted to email Mr. Large and Mr. Flannery. No luck.

At this point, the company’s web site lists no locations in Ohio.

Wow!!! You all are crazy!!! Their burgers were amazing! Better than Red Robin and definitely better than just about any burger I’ve had at any restaraunt around her. I’m sorry to see there are no more in Ohio.

Yeah, we need another chinese buffet. Nothing says quality like noodles poured out of a box and heated up.

I liked Fuddruckers, but I agree with a lot of the people here already… really too expensive for “dogs, burgers & fries” that you had to order at the counter, then fix up yourself. Too bad though… more jobs lost and another business closed.

I’ll tell you, you people around here wouldn’t know a good burger if it hit you sqaure in the head. Red Robin? YUCK.. terrible burgers and expensive.

I am glad they are closed. They poured chemicals on their floor and my four year old daughter fell in them. She had chemical burns. The manager would not take responsiblity and the owner would never call me. When I sent pictures and called Texas and spoke to Fuddruckers national they only apolgized and called the owner to call me but never held them responsible to reimberse for any expenses. I actually paid over $300.00 for burgers and chemical burns on my 4 year old. Like I said I am glad they are closed and I would not support them as a chain.

Granted, Fudd’s was pricey; but, I’m the one person who really liked their burgers & frings. My only concern was they might not survive because I thought their choice of locations kept them both enough “out of the way” for customers, especially out-of-towners. I’ll miss ‘em.

When mentioning great burgers around town, don’t forget the Pine Club burger (left over filet - yum!)…it’s right up there with Tank’s and Slyders! Make sure you get it with the onion straws. You can get it carryout throughout the week as well.

About time. Poor excuse for a “restaurant”. Overpriced by a long shot for a burger. From what I’m reading, no one liked them. Oh well!

Someone mentioned Tickets - they are on Main Street in Fairborn. Talk about AWESOME - try their Char Burger - Best burger around as far as I am concerned. They also have authentic Greek food and really good, huge hot wings. They stay pretty busy so if you go for lunch, 11:00 is your best bet. Friday/ Saturday nights are packed as well, but have never gotten bad service - just slow due to how crowded they are sometimes.

Tanks is on Wayne Ave. and also try Slyders two of the best burger joints in town and it won’t break the bank.To much overhead at corp. restuarants lil pay for employees but big bucks for them.

Never cared for the place myself. OK food, high prices, do all your own work and they expected a tip. Not a real loss.

I never really cared for Fuddruckers. I thought their burgers were very expensive and the service was very slow. The second and last time I went to the Beavercreek store, it took nearly an hour for our party to get all of their food.

There’s been a restaurant location available sign on N. Fairfield Rd. in front of the building where Fuddruckers was for quite some time, so I’m guessing it’s been closed for a while.

Good location for a Chinese Buffet. Most other niches filled close to the mall..

Actually I could never get past the stupid name. Totally turned me off and never once tried the place.

I always thought they were so expensive! I don’t want to pay over $50 bucks for a bunch of burgers for the family.

It wasn’t a bad restaurant, but it was very high priced for a burger joint. It also lost its liquor license for some reason last year.

Too bad, I thought they had a good burger, for a chain. And no hassles about what you wanted on your burger, since it was self serve. I won’t go to Red Robin, who may have the worst burger in the universe (dry, no flavor). Stick to locals such as Tickets, Tanks, Clancy’s.

Never really liked the place. Expensive and very inconsistant food quality. Red Robin is soooooooooo much better. I didn’t think that the Beavercreek store would last very long.

Does not surprise me, they had some of the worst management (owner, GM, managers, everybody!) i’ve ever seen at the beavercreek location.
