New restaurant will employ 130

MIAMI TWP., Montgomery County — Logan’s Roadhouse is building its second Dayton-area restaurant at 2148 Miamisburg-Centerville Road (Ohio 725), just east of the Dayton Mall where a former Bravo Italian Kitchen once stood.

The new restaurant is expected to open in spring 2010 and will hire approximately 130 new employees, according to Heather MacDonald, spokeswoman for the Nashville-based chain of casual steakhouses.

Logan’s Roadhouse operates a restaurant that opened in 2006 at 2819 Centre Drive near the Fairborn-Beavercreek border, just east of the intersection of North Fairfield Road and New Germany-Trebein Road. The restaurant chain operates 168 company-operated and 26 franchised Logan’s Roadhouse restaurants in 24 states. It’s known for its mesquite-grilled steaks and chicken, baby-back ribs and “bottomless” buckets of in-shell peanuts.

The restaurant chain demolished the former Bravo and is erecting a new 6,336-square-feet restaurant at the Miami Twp. site. It will seat 237, MacDonald said.

The Logan’s Roadhouse spokeswoman said she couldn’t comment specifically on what attracted company officials to the Miami Twp. site, but added, “We see a lot of opportunity in this area.”

The new restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner seven days a week.

Nothing compares to the TGIF by the mall, so there is no point in bothering with Logan’s. Logan’s will be gone within 2 years. Forget steak—let’s all eat sushi at Saki!

ya gotta love a place where you can throw the peanut shells on the floor! To Donny and flexin; Both Dots mkts are SE of Dayton. I love DLM, but get sticker shock there sometimes. Quality v cost, Dots is the winner.

Dots? Apparently, you are all from the north side of the Dayton Mall. The best meat market in Ohio is Zinks in Franklin! ! !

After reading this garbage, i don’t know why any business would come to Dayton. Awful economy, not much to look at, and JERKS for residents. Trust me, the rest of the nation isn’t rushing to the oasis they call Dayton, Ohio. Most would prefer Kentucky, as much as that probably burns “ya’ll” up. By reading the comments here, Logan’s will not miss the business the few of you won’t be giving.

Re:comment by me..get a steak and “cook that bad boy nice and slow.” Where did you learn that? First, you need high quality meat, preferably from DLM. If you pay that much you want to do it right. That means very high temp and grill it quick so you sear the outside and retain the juicy inside. It is the cheaper cuts you want to cook slowly. I agree with many here that places like Logan’s etc. serve poor quality cuts and are overpriced for the product. At least at the Pine Club and Oakwood club you get excellent food and good service. No, these part time restaurant jobs don’t support a family but who ever said they did.

The Racquette Club is a Private Wonderful Members Only Club..Google it and have fun! BTW, Paragon is the best for service and food quality a little pricey but the service you get there makes me come back every time!

I suppose any kind of employment is an improvement, but until we see jobs around here that one can sustain a reasonable standard of living with, it’s alittle hard to get too exited.

Just a tip for those who don’t like Logan’s (or any other restaurant) - don’t go! No one is forcing you to eat at any restaurant. If you prefer another place, give them your business.

I think they mean the Racquet Club. Actually a really good place to get a nice filet. It’s members only, but you can usually rent out one of their private rooms if you aren’t a member.

Been to Logan’s several times. Not for steak - I get them @ Dot’s and let my husband the grillmaster do it perfect at a great cost.Howecer, the chicken entrees I usually get @ Logan’s have been great. The bread is wonderful. Go where you like and don’t go to places you do not like. Enough said.

Right You are so right. A national study was just conducted by a major university and they found that even in a depressed economy, people refuse to give up eating out. Mortgage payments and car payments ranked behind eating out by some 90% of respondents. Welcome to the “me first” generation.

These resturants go great in a low income areas like Ohio and Kentucky. The last thing low income people will give up is eating out.

Taking this kinda personally, aren’t you, “WTH”? If you’re offended by my “pimply faced…” comment, then you must be a “cook” ant this…”restaurant”. Longhorn’s, Roadhouse and Lonestar also blow. You may as well go to Ponderosa. You want steak? Yes, Flemings. And Grub Steak, The Wellington Grill, Pine Club, Chris Ruth’s, Hyde Park Grill… NOTHING with a “cowboy” sounding name. Everybody’s a critic. That’s how it is. “Great value”, ‘eh? I pity your taste buds.

Why do people waste their time arguing about the quality of a steak? Seriously, everyone likes something different and that is great. I am just glad to see that a vacant building will no longer sit open as a huge eye sore. Just be glad there will be something in its place.

Seriously People?!?!? I have never heard so much negativity about Logan’s…..I personally think they are better than Longhorn, Texas Roadhouse and Lonestar…and I am not a pimple-faced teenager as someone put it. I know good food @ good value when I see it. There is very little I can complain about with Logan’s. You can’t compare it to Fleming’s or elsewhere in the category because they are not in the same economic category either! Some people have nothing better to do than *itch and complain!

Does any one know how many low end steak restaurants have gone out of business within 2 miles of the Dayton Mall in last 15 years? Got to be a least 10. This one will fair no better.

People are arguing because some people like this place and others don’t? If you don’t like it, don’t go.. no point in whining about it. I hate Ruby Tuesdays but I won’t stop other people from going or call them names if they do like it. I also hate El Ranchie Grande.

The majority rules, Judi P. Apparently, YOU’RE the loser for liking this loser restaurant. A pimply faced, adolescent teenager has no clue how to properly choose and grill a steak.

I am so excited! I love Logan’s! I work near the one in Fairborn, and regularly go there for lunch. I’m happy that I’ll be able to go to one closer to home. If you haven’t been there, the chicken teriyaki is perfection and their rolls are heavenly. Yum!

Judi, it’s hard to be positive and upbeat about a restaurant that cooks a steak however they feel like at that moment, throw it on a plate, the waitress dumps it in front of you and disappears, and then they get huffy when you complain. Not to mention they then charge you 25% more than the other steakhouses to sit at a table that hasn’t been wiped off for hours, and if you mention it, they slop a wet cloth over the general area and leave you to avoid soaked sleeves. That was MY one trip to Logan’s - I’m not impressed with the thought of another one.

Well, all the negative Dayton people are awake early today. If you guys ever said anything nice about anybody or anything, I’d flip. Logan’s is an OK restaurant for low to medium priced meals. Were you expecting the Racquette Club at those prices?? Good for families. It’s surprising to me that anybody would open ANY type of business in this area. You guys are losers!

Wow! Another 130 part-time, minimum wage jobs in Dayton. Who needs Iams, NCR, GM, Delphi, Mead, and likely Behr, when you can have another chain restaurant near the overly-congested mall. Glad are values and priorities are straight. We are the economic hot-bed of “Get Midwest”.

Actually, this place is WORSE!! Been twice @ B’creek locale. Yeah, I didn’t learn the first time. They know NO difference between medium and well done and a ribeye I ordered was more than half fat!! I know ribeyes are quite marbled however, this was horrendous. And they KNEW it!! When I complained, the manager was like, “Yeah, I noticed all the fat when it was being plated.” Oh yeah, butthead? Then WHY SERVE IT?!?! LESS THAN MEDICORE SERVICE and far, far less than medicore food. Save your money.
