Mesh Restaurant in West Chester will close for good after Saturday

Mesh Restaurant at 6200 Mulhauser Road in West Chester will close for business after dinner service on Saturday, Feb. 13, the restaurant announced today, Feb. 8.

The restaurant is in negotiations with the parent company of Indianapolis-based Stone Creek Dining Co., which operates a restaurant in Montgomery, Ohio, to possibly purchase the facility, according to Cynthia Grow, co-owner of Mesh with her husband Richard.

Grow said personal issues and the economy contributed to the decision to close Mesh, which was a fine-dining restaurant with many dinner entrees costing between $30 and $50.

The restaurant opened in August 2006. Cincinnati husband-and-wife chefs Paul and Pam Sturkey worked at Mesh until mid-2009.

To make reservations at Mesh prior to its closing, call (513) 777-7177.

When will people like yourself wake up and smell the coffee! When the restuarants here in town pay like they do in Cincinnati, then people might stay and eat here more. We (cooks) have spent thousandsto attend school not to be paid $7.50 -(.50,

Downtown does have some decent places, although most are closed before dinner. But the great majority of places worth going to are outside the few blocks Sandy thinks is the only area people should talk about. Mesh was one of them.

Why would he write about Downtown when there is nothing there, and no one wants to go down there? Keep it up Mark!

@Sandy, Cincinnati and Dayton are merging, where have you been. There are more places to eat than just at the Greene. Is Tipp City too far for you as well… widen your perspective.

Shame about Mesh. It’s really too bad the Sturkeys couldn’t make it stronger with their attemopted ventures. Oh, btw, please keep informing us about restaurants throughout the entire Miami Valley, Mark. Sandy is just a self-serving, self-centered crank who speaks for no one but himself. Thankfully, these boards are about the only voice he has. The world is bigger than Snady’s cranky tunnel vision.

My husband and I enjoyed dining at Mesh yet after the Sturkey’s left our opinion is the food just wasn’t the same. One more thing we live in the “Dayton” area. We enjoy reading about restaurants all over NOT just about downtown Dayton. Keep up the good work Mark you have a fan here!
