Bargain meals beckon during Restaurant Week
In Friday’s Dayton Daily News, I tried to tell you everything you need to know about Restaurant Week. But I only succeeded in part. We didn’t have room in the DDN Go! section to show you perhaps the most important thing: the menus. Once again, Uncorked readers get the VIP treatment …
Between the two links in the paragraph above, you should have everything you need to take full advantage of one of the best across-the-board dining bargains around. Make your reservations now so you won’t be shut out — then next week, let us know about your Restaurant Week experiences (and read about others) right here in Uncorked.
Now that’s an offer that’s hard to refuse ….

I went to The Racquet Club last night and I guess I have to say because of my cold that my sense of taste is definitely out whack. I had the corn and potato soup which I thought was very good, the stuffed crabmeat chicken which I wasn’t too fond of of and oh yes the Ceasar Salad, but I opted to skip the sun-dried tomatoes. The service was very good as usual.By redbean

My wife and I have visited three Restaurant Week spots so far and the experience has been mostly positive. We both enjoyed the white bean soup at Jay’s but she came out ahead by choosing the pork roulade which had a slightly sweet but tasty soy-ginger sauce.I chose the crab canneloni and I’m still looking for the crab. The Bahn Mai Thai Cafe was excellent with both choices on the Restaurant Week menu being great plus you get a glass of wine or bottle of Thai beer. The Meadowlark didn’t disappoint except for the fact that I was looking forward to the short ribs which were advertised on the web menu but didn’t make it to the one in the restaurant. We both decided on the sirloin steak which was very good, I love their polenta.By chiefwino

Just got back from Savona. Superb service and very nice wine list. We tried items off the Restaurant Week menu and regular menu. The Carmelized Onion Soup was excellent as was the Chicken Braciola. The house made sausage in the regular spaghetti was great; good spicy kick on a windy, rainy night. Did hear (second hand) about poor service at Cena; better service for people ordering off the regular menu; food items were mixed bag.By Kim

Monday night I dined at Mamma E Mia’s in the Talbott Tower. I had the chips w/ the sauce appetizer, a salad with pears and walnuts, the sausage and ground beef lasagna and the chocolate chip canneloni for dessert. The salad and dessert were good, but the lasagna was tasteless and dry.By Kim

I went to Carver’s last night and enjoyed the Spinach Salad w/ the dried cranberries, etc. I loved the dressing. It was excellent. My entree was the Prime Rib and the horseradish sauce was excellent. I am sure it was homemade. I had the Creme Brulee for dessert. Another good meal at Carver’s and very good service.
