Greene County Parks will host a day for women in the outdoors on Monday, Oct. 19, from 9 a.m. until dark at Clifton Reserve and Lodge, 2762 S. River Road, Clifton.
The program will include instruction and hands-on experiences in archery, campfire cooking, fire building, outdoor survival, wildlife laws and more. Lunch and dinner will be included.
The cost is $30 for Greene County residents and $40 for non-residents. To sign up or for more information, call (937) 562-7440. The Ohio Division of Wildlife and National Wild Turkey Federation are co-sponsors.
St. Marys tourney
A crappie and catfish tournament will be held this weekend at Grand Lake St. Marys. Sign up at The Outdoorsman on the northeast corner of the lake.
The entry fee is $15 per person, per category. Tournament hours are:
Day 1: Friday, Oct. 9, noon to Saturday, Oct. 10, noon.
Day 2: Noon Saturday, Oct. 10, to noon Sunday, Oct. 11.

DU banquet: The 35th annual Grand Lake Ducks Unlimited banquet will be at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at Romer’s on Ohio 127, Celina. For tickets and information, call (937) 264-4000, ext. 15 or (419) 394-8322.
Pulling stumps: While the water level is down at Grand Lake St. Marys, the state park wants boaters to mark stumps they come across. Starting Oct. 12, a barge will move around the lake, pulling stumps that damage propellers. Stumps should be marked using a gallon milk jug painted orange, secured with a sufficient line and anchor.
