Archdeacon on Tressel: Knives out, or hit the nail on the head?

When things were all sweetness and light in Buckeye Nation, the DDN couldn’t print enough stories about OSU sports, many times at the expense of local universities. Now that things have gone south at OSU, the long knives at the DDN are out, and the longest knife belongs to that “Arch hypocrite” Tom Archdeacon (“Tressel stained OSU’s image,” May 31).

Tom Archdeacon hit the nail on the head. Jim Tressel should have been gone when the story broke months ago.

Lined up by job importance, football coach would be a long way from the top, yet the highest paid state employee is a football coach. No wonder we have budget problems.

There’s no question Coach Jim Tressel is guilty of attempting to cover up NCAA violations. However, the DDN is beating up on him and the university, while ignoring the thousands of young men the Tressel family has helped over the years.
