Nadine Daugherty is a lifelong resident of Sugarcreek Twp. and she has a passion for her community. She only wants what is best for the residents and the best value for the dollar spent.
When I first met her a number of years ago, I was running for council and she was a citizen from the township sitting in the audience during a candidates’ night put on by our Chamber of Commerce. Afterward, she came up to me and said she wished I lived in the township and could run for office there. I told her that with her love for Sugarcreek, she should run. She did so the next time and won.
She has been outstanding in her dedication to the community and her willingness to work with the city of Bellbrook. We have learned to work together, greatly due to both governments knowing that it is either work together, or have problems that are not healthy for either group.
Daugherty has been a leader in this concept. She is willing to look at change, but only change that will be good for her residents. She is an honest, caring person whom I know whom I would vote for if I were a township resident.

Daugherty does more than asked
We have known Nadine Daugherty for several years as a member of our church and as a Sugarcreek Twp. trustee.
Recently, she went above and beyond the call of duty when we asked her if she would speak to a group of fourth-grade Webelos Cub Scouts working on earning their citizen badge. The badge requirements included speaking to a community leader about his or her responsibilities as an elected official and what being an elected official means.
However, instead of speaking briefly with us, which would have fulfilled the requirement, Daugherty wanted a presentation that would both interest and inspire the boys. She arranged for Barry Tiffany, police officers and firefighters to speak to the Scouts about different aspects of citizenship, making it a very well-rounded and enjoyable experience for the boys.
This is just one example of how Nadine Daugherty does more than what is asked in her service to this community. Not only has she donated her time to help a group of youth in this community grow to become better citizens, but she has consistently exhibited sound judgment and a balanced approach to tackling the issues that confront Sugarcreek Twp.
This is why we believe she should be re-elected as trustee.
