Firefighters endorse Nolan and Gallagher for Miami Twp. trustees

After careful consideration and discussion, both the Miamisburg Firefighters, IAFF Local 3115, and the Miami Township Career Firefighters, IAFF Local 2951, have decided to endorse Mike Nolan and Greg Gallagher for the Miami Township Board of Trustee positions.

Please note that it is very unusual for both of our locals to come together and endorse two candidates. This should bring to light the importance we feel this election holds for the area’s residents, its communities, and the businesses of both Miami Township and Miamisburg.

The statements and discussions that were shared with the memberships of both firefighter groups demonstrated a dead-on awareness of problems and issues facing elected officials in today’s environment, such as the increase in the lack of transparency and fiscal irresponsibility.

Both candidates presented strong points that our areas will need solid leadership to realize economic growth and provide the right jobs and infrastructure needed now and into the future. That said, both agree we also need to be responsible in our growth and keep the green space for rural areas in the township.

The candidates show excellent business knowledge that will provide for smart, practical, and responsible spending.

We are confident that our selection to endorse both candidates will benefit the whole area encompassing Miami Twp. and Miamisburg.

Both departments will potentially feel some major repurcussions due to this act. The fact that both departments have endorsed Nolan and Gallagher and NOT the incumbent Preston is pretty telling. Her husband is the Vice Mayor of Miamisburg and will surely be punishing those who did not support his wife. The township guys will be safe as long as she is not re-elected. They have put their necks on the chopping block because they see first hand how mismanaged this township has become.

Pretty bold statement that these two individuals from BOTH the township and the city come together to support these candidates. Many have been aware/concerned about the questionable conduct in the Miami Township Trustees for some time. This helps me to realize there's issues indicating a serious need for change. Nolan and Gallagher have my vote.

matthew,, you are the reason people like Preston are in office..clueless. what does Clearcreek fire inspections have to do with Nolan and Gallagher earning the endorsement of Miami Twp Fire Fighters and the Miamisburg Fire Fighters? Wake up and post appropriate information.

To Steve, you call having high morals and ethics when a clearcreek firefighter bash a business owner for complying and having some inspector make her cry in front of her children? is this the way you treat your family? I was in the business next door and watched the whole thing. you must be one of those lazy firefighters from clearcreek

Dear "Concerned Citizen"
Obviously you could care less about Miami Twp FF's and you simply have an axe to grind against Springboro FF's which actually work for Clearcreek Twp FYI. You are completely mis-informed as neither entity is lazy and show nothing but the highest levels of moral and ethical character. Those of us that are truly in the know realize exactly what your motives are and would advise you to get the facts before you go spouting off trying to dig on an issue that is far past
