Health care plan critically needed
Working families need health care reform now, especially when we consider that 22,000 to 50,000 people in the United States die each year because of lack of health insurance.
And, using a model developed by the Urban Institute, the total number of uninsured Americans now exceeds 50 million.
This is disgraceful in the most industrialized nation in the world.
The time for our Congress to act is now to provide a public option to bring competition to large insurance and pharmaceutical companies, and a health reform bill that does not tax health care benefits.
