Invest in Trotwood-Madison's future; vote for Issue 38

Hot Topics

Great things are happening in Trotwood-Madison City Schools. We have an “effective” high school, 22:1 student/teacher ratio, co-teaching model in each elementary classroom, honors and advanced-placement classes, winning athletic teams, an outstanding music program, and free community use of the swimming pool, weight room and walking track.

To insure that great things continue to happen in Trotwood schools, the Trotwood community is being asked to support passage of a 7.5-mill operating levy on Nov. 3. Listening to the community’s concern, the board of education decreased the request for the levy to 7.5 mills to make it more affordable for homeowners. The levy will cost a homeowner with a $100,000 property value $19.15 a month.

This is the first operating levy for Trotwood-Madison City Schools in 13 years.

Without the passage of Issue 38, tough cuts will be made that will greatly impact our district and community. Academic programs, extracurricular activities, athletics and busing will take a drastic cut.

Your vote is needed to keep our schools strong, neighborhoods safe, and insure a thriving community where we can live, work and play.

A vote for Issue 38 is an investment in our future. Our 3,000 students are counting on you on Nov. 3.

Trotwood

Ms. Daniel is president of the Trotwood-Madison school board.

The TM administration had enough money to give themselves a raise last year. Maybe they could give that cash back to the school system to save some money--naw, it'll never happen. They will dump teachers and busing. The admin will keep their loot.

No way am I voting for issue 38. I recently took my stepson and some freinds to take a placement test at UT and they did poorly. I ask them when they had math last and they said they had not had math since the 10th grade. They did poorly in the sciences to. Then why do teachers need so many administrtive days off when student can not do basic math. I am a member of the Dayton Baptist Pastors and Ministers Union. Dayton Mayor and school board showed up but Trotwood did not or care.
