The Dayton Daily News asked the candidates for the 36th District seat in the Ohio House to provide a letter of endorsement from one of their supporters.

‘... will be a strong advocate for the people’

This letter of endorsement for Cheryl Watson was written by her sister, Linda J. Watson.

Will Rogers said, “There is no more independence in politics than there is in jail.” I guess Will knew what he was talking about — the Republican and Democratic parties work more against each other than for the people.

Cheryl, an independent, is listening to the many voices who have said, “Enough of politics as usual.”

With years of experience in education, real estate, marketing, management, sales and training, Cheryl will be a strong advocate for the people.

Cheryl will represent all constituents.

Unlike Cheryl’s opponent (who doesn’t list his party affiliation on his campaign literature), Cheryl is a real independent.

Isn’t it time we elected a true representative of the people?

'... will bring new, effective kind of thinking’

This letter of endorsement for Mike Henne was written by Joseph Castellano, a professor at the University of Dayton.

These are difficult economic times for our community and state. They require bold leadership, a new vision, transparency and integrity from our elected representatives.

Mike Henne embodies these qualities.

One of Ohio’s most difficult challenges is to attract, promote and support small businesses. These firms are vital to job-creation efforts. As a business owner, Mike is well aware of what it takes to attract and retain businesses throughout Ohio.

No problem will be solved by the same failed thinking that created it.

Mike Henne’s qualifications and positions on the critical issues will bring a new, effective kind of thinking for solving our community’s and state’s problems.

'... experienced approach to problem solving’

This letter of endorsement for Carl Fisher was written by Doris Studebaker who served with Fisher on the Huber Heights school board.

Carl has a history of both enthusiastic involvement in his community and a business management career that offers an experienced approach to problem solving.

Carl passionately believes it is time to set aside divisive issues and work together.

He can be counted on to be an advocate for finding solutions that will help Ohio citizens.

His professional experience, a successful record on educational issues and proven commitment to children and families will assist him as a representative.

We are fortunate that a talented, capable leader has stepped forward and is willing to continue to serve our community.
