Mental health board is hostile to others

Re “Mentally ill aren’t getting care they need,” Nov. 13: When Twin Valley Behavioral Healthcare was open, the Montgomery County Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services Board was a thorn in the hospital’s side. It is not surprising that their agenda hasn’t changed. They continue to be hostile and controlling with every agency/hospital they deal with.

It is obvious that Twin Valley, Dayton shouldn't have closed to begin with, and a state owned and operated hospital, on whatever scale, needs to be reopened. The closing of Twin Valley was political to begin with - and at the time, had nothing to do with the state budget. It is time to address the political motivation behind the closure of this 153 year old hospital, as the consequences that have resulted from this closure were known to all prior to its occurrence.
