President Warren Harding’s speeches were once described as “an army of pompous phrases marching across the landscape in search of an idea.” President Barack Obama’s speeches can be described as an army of pompous phrases marching across the landscape in support of a bad idea.

Meanwhile, in addition to outdoing John Kennedy as an orator, Obama also surpasses past presidents in other ways: He is a bigger liar than Bill Clinton; he has gone beyond Andrew Jackson and Lyndon Johnson for the title of crudest president; he is more devious than Richard Nixon; he is more arrogant than Woodrow Wilson; and he is a bigger spendthrift than Franklin Roosevelt.

Finally, to the profound relief of Jimmy Carter, Obama has replaced him as the worst president in the last 100 years.
