I read with interest the Dayton Daily News’ articles on Caterpillar’s new Clayton facility.

Recently, I was on Hoke Road and I witnessed poetry in motion. Kelchner Excavating was removing the big diesel fuel tank it had used to fuel the Caterpillar equipment that was used to prepare the Caterpillar site, not a mile as the crow flies from where Kelchner got its start just after World War II with, you guessed it, Caterpillar equipment.

Watching the big white diesel fuel tank with “Kelchner” emblazoned on the side slowly ascend onto the flatbed truck, sitting next to a giant Caterpillar bulldozer, was pure poetry.
