Schrimpf committed to finding solutions
I’m a 27-year Kettering resident and have been involved in civic issues that affect my neighborhood and the city at large.
Through this involvement, I’ve had the opportunity to work with Amy Schrimpf during her service on the Kettering City Council. I’ve found her a dedicated councilwoman with the best interests of residents in mind. She has readily met with me and other residents and has been a solution-oriented advocate for Kettering citizens.
I plan to vote for Amy Schrimpf for Kettering City Council on Nov. 3 and encourage other Kettering voters to do so as well.

Schrimpf, Smith good picks for council seats
After 16 years as a councilwoman and mayor of the City of Kettering, I know first-hand how important City Council members are to any city.
We are so fortunate when the right persons come along, and Amy Schrimpf fits this picture perfectly. She has enthusiasm, vision, creativity, business background and a great rapport with people.
The Dayton Business Journal recently honored her as a “Forty Under 40” recipient.
Ed Smith also mirrors many of these same qualities. As a U.S. Air Force veteran, with the JAG Corps, he has been a practicing lawyer for 35 years. With his vast business experience and strong commitment to community service, he would also be a tremendous asset to our great city.
Please consider Schrimpf and Smith when you cast your vote on Nov. 3. I sincerely believe they are both outstanding residents who will serve us well.

Smith most qualified of council candidates
We are writing to express our support for Ed Smith, the most qualified candidate for Kettering City Council.
After serving in the United States Air Force JAG Corps for four years, Smith returned to Kettering, where he and his wife, Kathie, have lived for 31 years while raising a family. He has represented a host of clients, and is a lawyer whose advice and counsel is even sought by other lawyers.
He understands business issues and transactions and the problems people face trying to make ends meet.
As a member of the Kettering Parks Foundation Board and Dayton Rotary, he cares about his community and is active in it. A former instructor at Notre Dame and head of the local alumni club’s teacher awards, he also cares deeply about education. He is active in his parish, St. Charles, and served as president of its parish council.
Smith cares about the underserved and puts his caring into action by donating countless hours to serving the indigent, elderly and disabled, by providing free legal assistance to first-responders, and by representing his profession without compensation in the Ohio Supreme Court to discipline lawyers who have done harm to others.
He has broad experience, will bring people together, and will always have the best interests of Kettering residents as his top priority. We believe he’s the right person for the job and urge you to vote for him on Nov. 3.
