13 arrested in drug bust
Thirteen people accused of drug trafficking throughout the Miami Valley were arrested early this morning, Jan. 28, following a six-month dragnet by local and federal law enforcement agencies.
Vigil held for rape victim
About 50 people attend a candlelight vigil on Jan. 19 offering prayers for Phyllis Mays of Liberty Township. A 14-year-old is charged with raping and robbing the 64-year-old at her home.

Fatal shooting, vigil at United Foods
A security guard at United Foods, 2141 N. Main St., was shot and killed Friday night, Dec. 18. A vigil for the victim, Orlyn “Charlie” Conklin, was held Tuesday, Dec. 22 in the parking lot.

Driver flees police, crashes
Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009 Springfield police arrested a man after he fled from authorities in a car chase, got into an accident with another vehicle at the intersection of Wittenberg Avenue and Pleasant Street and then ran on foot.

The 19th annual homicide victims memorial was held Monday evening, Dec. 14, 2009. The date was proclaimed Homicide Victim Day by the Montgomery County Commission and the Dayton City Commission.
