Cabbage patch dolls - 1983

Cabbage patch dolls - 1983 - made by Coleco - No other toy comes to mind when you say Christmas frenzy. Some parents were so desperate they fought each other at the store. Stores had shipments made by armored trucks and ads had to be pulled to call them down. They were originally created in 1978 under the name Little People, made of fabric and sold at craft shows. The dolls were sold when Coleco filed for bankruptcy, and were made by Mattel and Hasbro. They're still on the market, owned by Jakks Pacific.
