Two people suffered non-life-threatening injuries when their sedan was struck by a Springfield Police Department vehicle on Tuesday evening, Dec. 11, 2012. According to a preliminary investigation, two police cruisers responding to a report of a robbery were headed west on West North Street near Yellow Springs Street at about 6:14 p.m., with lights and sirens activated. The first cruiser made it through the intersection, but the second officer slammed into the sedan that was headed north on Yellow Springs St., according to police. The officer involved in the accident was not injured.
