Many of the beautiful locations around Dayton have to be seen in all 360 degrees to fully appreciate them.

Here are three whose experience is better with a 360-degree camera:

Starry Sky

I’ve been pleasantly surprised at the low-light capability of the Ricoh Theta S360 camera. This night sky photo in Clinton County was made on a tripod with a 60-second exposure at ISO 160. The Big Dipper constellation is plainly visible to the north.

Antioch College

Antioch College, founded in 1850, has the towering Antioch Hall that serves as the centerpiece of the small Liberal Arts school. Antioch College reopened in 2011 after a shutdown in 2008 and fully separated from Antioch University as an independent institution. The college currently has more than 250 students.

Tree Tower Cox Arboretum

The 46-foot Tree Tower at Cox Arboretum offers visitors a sweeping view of the park. There are 81 wooden steps to reach the top above a nearby conifer tree collection. Funding for construction of the Tree Tower was provided by more than 400 donors through the efforts of The James M. Cox, Jr. Arboretum Foundation membership.
