Who Dey
Who Don’t
I believe Chads tude sums up the Been Gals problems! Bengal Fans keep saying they like his antics, but in my opinion it only distracts from the task at hand, winning football games. HOF?? I’m in the Dawg Pound now. Keep distracting your team Chad and when your team is watching the playoffs tell all your team mates “Look at ME now” What a waste of talent, man! Even though Carson took the blame for the little kiddie argumento n Monday night, we all know where the problem is
The year the Steelers won the Super Bowl I recall a lot of Steeler fans calling for the Chins head on a platter. But the Steelers came back and won it allwhen it appeared their season was over. Would you call them fair weather fans? No..I think not..and Bengal fans who are getting aggravated by the losses are not fair weather fans either. Complaining is not being fair weather.
WOW - talk about fairweather fans! I am amazed at how many people have jumped off the Bengals bandwagon so quickly. Whatever happened to supporting your team through good AND bad? How many Browns fans do you know that stopped supporting their team when they lost the team and with all of the losing they’ve done since they’ve been back? Sure, this is not the 2005 or even 2006 version of the team, but we’re 4 weeks into the season and everyone’s completely giving up? This is crazy!
Am I concerned? YES, however I’d be even more worried if we had all the injured and suspended players playing and the Bengals were still one and three.
I have stuck with the Bengals for years, I am not a fair weather fan. But I am tired. Tired of all these years of having a above average offense and the defence just puttering along. I thought Marvin was the answer but now I am wondering.I want a better defence. Just once I would love to see us strong on both ends. Solid. It like we have half a team and sometimes they do well. Wonder where we could go if we had it all?
I feel like these guys are still flying on their season from 2005 - it’s time to wake up guys! And if you want to be selfish & go get arrested - just don’t even bother showing up to play!! **cough, cough, Chris Henry - GROW UP WE NEED YOU!
The problem with the Bengals is very simple…The coaching staff is routinely OUTCOACHED every game they play! The fans love to tell you what a defensive genius Marvin is but the truth of the matter is that Brian Billick is the real genius as much as I can’t stand that ARROGANT JERK! So, in my opinion, Marvin Lewis elevated this team to the “mediocrity” level HOWEVER…this team is now very much in need of a coach like Bill Cowher, although I seriously doubt he would ever work for Mike Brown!!!
SEVERAL key injuries+young D+suspensions= CRAPPY SEASON!! Put Thurman, Jeanty, Brooks, Pollack, Henry, Irons, and Chris perry on this team healthy and things are waaaaaaaaaaay different. Of course with THAT linebacking corps, we can let Justin go and pick up Adalius and run the 3-4 more often.
Of course if you want in one hand and crap in the other, we all know which fills up first!
Marvin is a defensive genius because of what he did at Baltimore? Then how the heck did lowly Cleveland score 50 points??? That idiot with the red, bushy hair ought to shave his head until they shut out a team.
As long as Brown is the owner of the Bengals they will be losers. He, mr brown, doesn’t care about winning you can see that by the coaches he has hired in the past as well as the players he gets. I feel sorry for the fans, the great city of cincinnati deserves better
Fair weahter fans is exactly right. I have been through the highs and lows with this team since the 80’s. I am a season ticket holder and I was distressed and ashamed to hear the Bengals OWN fans booing them. Shame Shame Shame….Can’t wait to see what happens when we turn it around this season. If you can’t be supportive of the Bengals in the rough times, then find a new team to support. We don’t want you!
Injuries are a part of the game and can not be used as an excuse. Not being in top physical condition can result in injuries. The Bengal players are not in condition.
Now you’re seeing what I’ve seen for years…the Bengals have THE BIGGEST FAIR WEATHER FANS IN THE LEAGUE. I particularly liked the “hire Mike Breshnehan” comment…yea there’s a good idea, put the guy in charge of the defense in charge of the whole team…good call there buddy! just shows you don’t know what you’re talking about either…you’d fit right in to the coaching staff.
I love the Bengals but it is sad to be an avid fan and have them play so poorly as they did Monday. I agree with whoever said they started as they had already lost. I had hoped that Monday would hae been the bigest upset of the season! I will still be a fan but may not watch as much this year but just keep tabs on them.
I can’t believe the NFL is still allowing the Patriots to play football right now. After The HUGE cheating incident that found their coach has been routinely spying on other teams, and none of their so called ‘championships’ were won validly. The Bengals should have been given an Auto Win Monday night for having to play a bunch of cheaters!
It’s time for Marvin to go. Carson Palmer alone elevated this team from F students to C students - not Marvin. As a ticketholder I expect more and Marvin can’t get us the rest of the way there. He has mismanaged this team in every way. Fire Marvin & hire Marty Shottenheimer…
im sick of hearing how marvin turned the bengals around. the bengals got better and won some games because of one reason… they drafter carson palmer. his ability to put points on the board and over come a horrible defense is why they have won the games they have. now though it seems the D is so bad even he cant overcome them. MARVIN MUST GO !!!!!
Before the entire painful season unfurls the very real thought of a 6-10
record for 2007 needs to be anticipated. 1-3 after Monday night leaves 12
games left. If the Bengals win 5 and lose 7 there you have it, 6-10. Look
at the schedule do you see more that six wins in the last 12 games? If
there is a sports God, a Bengal turnaround will be on the level of the
Mets World Series win, US Olympic hockey gold medal, and the real biggie,
the parting of the Red Sea. Yes there are injuries and, as the coaches
lament, people not carrying out assignments, confusion, poor decisions,
etc, etc, etc. The faces have changed on defense, the talent has changed,
yet the results remain the same; poor inconsistent tackling, blown
coverage’s, etc, etc., etc. From a management view (head coach) the
constant that matches the continued unacceptable results has been
defensive team coaching. The offense cannot be expected to score over 50
points every game and, for all the preseason hype, have not demonstrated
the consistency needed to go 12- 4.
“It is one thing to identify talent; it is another to mold it. Coaches are
no different than your best managers. They are responsible for developing
players and forging a sense of shared mission that separates the best
teams. Like all managers, coaches must massage egos, build consensus and
motivate players to disregard pain, exhaustion and self-interest for the
greater good”. Coaches set the organizational tone. They understand that
football, like business, is not a game of statistics. It is a game of
discipline, guts and tendencies. That’s why they focus on repetition and
habits, knowing one blown assignment or half-hearted effort can lose a
game. (Jeff Schmitt, Marketing Manager, Dubuque, Iowa)
Leadership requires hard decisions and after 5 years of defensive
inconsistencies, unacceptable results (remember the last 3 games last
year, remember San Diego and Atlanta), and the same excuses, (Marvin must
have them written somewhere) self preservation instincts say, Get me a
defensive coach, with simple schemes, a desire to crush the other team,
and players that breath fire for 60 minutes. Last year the Ravens head
coach fired his best friend because the results weren’t acceptable. If the
season ends at 6-10 selling tickets for 2008 will be a marketing challenge
because the expectations (goals) have not been meet, the results are less
than anticipated, improvement invisible and lastly, a new coaching staff
will be on board.
Are the players innocent in this decline, no, but they do reflect the
coaching they are receiving. As any parent knows, kids emulate what their
environment teaches them, and it looks like there is a lack of teaching
and motivation happening at Paul Brown Stadium.
Injury, injury, injury. You can’t expect to win in the NFL when you’re only healthy linebackers and O-linemen are 2nd and 3rd stringers. All due respect to the fill-ins that are working hard, but you need to get your top NFL-quality players on the field, then talk about performance and coaching.
That defense looked as clueless as can be. And when you have 12 guys on the field after the end of a quarter and time out, that’s just horrible coaching. Chuck Bresnahan needs to be fired before this gets ugly! How many years with the last place defense in the league does it take before you get canned by Mike Cheapskate Brown?
