Extras
One of these four finalists will win the Heisman Trophy at today's 8 p.m. presentation on ESPN. Here's what we see:
Colt Brennan
Senior quarterback
University of Hawaii
Why he'll win: Brennan has passed for 4,174 yards and 38 touchdowns while making Hawaii relevant nationally and leading the Warriors to a BCS bowl.
Why he won't: Voters could see Brennan's numbers as a product of the pass-often offense, not because of skill.
Chase Daniel
Junior quarterback
University of Missouri
Why he'll win: Daniel has taken Missouri to new heights with his school records of 4,170 passing yards and 33 touchdowns.
Why he won't: The Tigers have two losses (both to Oklahoma) and were flattened in their only game as the nation's top-ranked team.
Darren McFadden
Junior running back,
University of Arkansas
Why he'll win: McFadden, last year's runner-up, has already won a number of awards by rushing for 1,725 yards, an Arkansas single-season record.
Why he won't: The Hogs are 8-4, although he did rush for 528 yards in the four losses.
Tim Tebow
Sophomore quarterback,
University of Florida
Why he'll win: The likely favorite, Tebow leads the Gators in both passing (261 yards per game) and rushing (69.8).
Why he won't: Like Arkansas, Florida has been bitten with losses, including three in a four-game span to Auburn, LSU and Georgia.
