Montgomery shakes up his Miami coaching staff

OXFORD — DeAndre Smith, who has been the running backs coach, was named associate head coach at Miami University, as part of a staff realignment announced by head football coach Shane Montgomery.
The new defensive coordinator is Jay Hood, who had been the defensive line coach.

The moves follow the departure of defensive coordinator and assistant head coach Taver Johnson, who left to coach defensive backs at Ohio State.
