RedHawks sweep MAC weekly honors

OXFORD — Following its first Mid-American Conference opening weekend sweep since 2000, the Miami University baseball team also swept the MAC East Division Player and Pitcher of the Week Awards.
Sophomore designated hitter Eric Darlage was named the MAC East Division Player of the Week, while junior right-handed pitcher Connor Graham was tabbed the MAC East Division Pitcher of the Week.
Darlage went 9-of-19 from the plate with six RBIs and two runs. In the three-game series against the Rockets, Darlage hit a team-leading .500 off a 7-of-14 hitting performance and also notched an impressive .857 slugging percentage and had a .500 on-base percentage. He recorded two doubles and a home run, while scoring two runs and knocking in five others in the three-game sweep.
Graham pitched eight innings in the second game of a three-game series against the Rockets. He had a 1.12 ERA, giving up just one earned run off five hits, striking out six while walking none. Graham faced 29 batters and restricted the opposition to a .172 batting average. He picked up his third win of the season, moving to 3-1 on the year, while helping Miami to a 12-2 win against the Rockets, its most lopsided victory of the season.
MUH suffers DH sweep at Rio Grande
GALLIPOLIS — The Miami University-Hamilton baseball team dropped a DH at Rio Grande on Sunday, falling 3-2 and 7-5.
In the first game, Damien Hannah went 1-for-2 with an RBI and Adam Farwick doubled in a run and scored to lead the Harriers (10-10).
In the nightcap, the offense was led by Hannah (2-3, double, RBI, run), Cory Gallagher (two-run home run) and Will Grant (2-3, run).
MUH returns to action today at home with a doubleheader against Clark State.

RedHawks women wrap Bailey meet
TUSCALOOSA — On Sunday at Sam Bailey Track in Tuscaloosa, the Miami University women's track and field team competed in four relay events and had three individual athletes post top-15 finishes as the RedHawks wrapped up competition at the Alabama Relays.
Competing in four of the eight relay events that were contested, Miami's top relay finish was fourth in the 3,200-meter relay (9:36.42). The RedHawks also finished fourth in the 400 shuttle relay, seventh in the 1,600 relay
(3:56.05) and 10th in the 400 meter relay (47.73).
Individually, three different Miamians turned in top-15 finishes in their respective events. Leading the way was junior Erin Frazer with her ninth-place showing in the javelin (120 feet, 5 inches), while seniors Doreen Nagawa and Teresa Bis added top-15 finishes in the triple jump (11th; 38-9 1/2) and hammer throw (13th; 147-11), respectively.
