road win over Dayton
DAYTON — Jordan Petraitis and Jeff Carroll both homered Tuesday as the Miami University baseball team edged host Dayton 9-8 at Time Warner Cable Stadium.
Carroll had three hits and two RBIs for the RedHawks (12-9), and Petraitis had two hits and two RBIs. Brandon Hillier, Evan Armitage and Josh Hula added two hits and an RBI apiece.
Steve Antoniotti, the fourth of five MU pitchers, picked up the win. Reece Asbury got the save.
The Flyers are 7-14. Miami hosts Eastern Kentucky today at 6 p.m.

Two-out RBI double
gives MU 2-1 triumph
OXFORD — A two-out RBI double from senior Leslie Macedo lifted the Miami University softball team to a 2-1 victory over Eastern Kentucky.
It was the RedHawks' first win in their new stadium, while improving to 9-22-1. EKU dropped to 13-16.
Alicia Hogl reached base on an error and scored the winning run for Miami. Halle Popson had three hits, and Christine Bills added two.
MU opens Mid-American Conference play this weekend when it travels to Akron and Ohio.

Miami tied for 12th in UALR/First Tee Classic
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The Miami University golf squad finished tied for 12th in a 17-team field Monday and Tuesday at the UALR/First Tee Classic.
The RedHawks finished in a tie with Western Kentucky, shooting 295-294-308—897 as a team.
Sophomore Ben Bastel paced MU with a 6-over-par 222 and tied for 41st place. Sophomore Ben Wood finished one stroke behind Bastel in a tie for 44th place, while freshman Andrew Aseltine tied for 51st place at 11-over par 225.
Miami will compete in the Eastern Kentucky Spring Intercollegiate event this weekend.
