RedHawks strengthen hold on hockey's No. 1

OXFORD — Miami University's hockey team strengthened its grip on No. 1 — without hitting the ice. The RedHawks, idle during the weekend, are the top-ranked team in the country for the sixth straight week in the United States College Hockey Online.com/CSTV poll.
Miami (13-1) earned 48 out of a possible 50 first-place votes. No. 2 Colorado College (10-4) and No. 3 Michigan (14-2) received one apiece.

The RedHawks also are tops in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine rankings, garnerning 33 of 34 first-place votes. Michigan received the other.
