Miami tops OSU in Ohio Hockey Classic final

COLUMBUS — Miami University's hockey team won the Ohio Hockey Classic for the second time in three years by beating Ohio State 3-2 Sunday night at Value City Arena.
The top-ranked RedHawks (18-2), who also won the title in 2005, posted their fourth straight victory after sophomore Gary Steffes scored the go-ahead goal with 1:38 remaining in the third period.
Extras
Ryan Jones and Jared Palmer also scored for the RedHawks and Miami goalie Jeff Zatkoff allowed two goals or fewer for the 16th consecutive time this season.
Ohio State fell to 6-14 despite goals from Kyle Reed and John Albert.
