OXFORD — Amanda Jackson has run over a thousand plays at Miami University.

But after one of her biggest moments as a RedHawk, the South High School grad and redshirt senior guard can't recall the name of the play that vaulted her to the top of the Miami women's basketball record book.

"I honestly don't remember," Jackson said. "It happened pretty fast."

With 2:32 remaining in the second half of Miami's 81-70 victory at Eastern Michigan on Jan. 29, Jackson drove to the basket and finished a layup that made her the university's all-time leading scorer with 1,729 points.

Heather Cusick held the old mark of 1,728 points since 2003.

Jackson currently has 1,750 points for her career — with eight regular-season games remaining.

She's averaging 21.9 points per game for the RedHawks (13-9, 5-3 Mid-American Conference) this season.

Jackson said she always dreamed of accomplishments like this since arriving at Oxford in 2003, but it didn't seem possible until she inched closer to the record.

"I didn't think it was realistic until two weeks ago," Jackson said. "It's an honor and a privilege to be up there with the top players that went to the university."
