MU icer Jones to donate his hair
OXFORD — Senior captain Ryan Jones will donate his hair at the end of the season to Locks of Love, a nonprofit organization out of Lake Worth, Fla., that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children younger than 18 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. Jones said one girl in particular got him interested in the cause.
"I started following a young girl named Korrine, who was diagnosed with cancer, through her blogspot
(www.korrinecroghan.blogspot.com), and she has been a true inspiration," Jones said. "Through her chemo and dealing with her disease, she has helped organize fundraisers to raise money for cancer research. Included was a Locks for Love donation day where people could come and donate their hair. Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it because of the hockey season, but I am hoping to get out there and donate the next time around."
