Coles hopes bench can continue to contribute

OXFORD — It's no shock that one of the Miami RedHawks' sore points this season has been its bench. Outside of Eric Pollitz, who has been a solid sixth man when he hasn't been starting, Miami's bench has been inexperienced and inconsistent.
The RedHawks got several strong efforts off the bench Saturday in their 68-64 victory over Central Michigan, and Coles would like to see that turn into a trend, starting with tonight's contest at Western Michigan, the Mid-American Conference West Division leader.

Part of the reason are players like Adam Fletcher, Dwight McCombs, Nick Winbush and Carl Richburg, all of whom have averaged less than 10 minutes per game, all of whom made key contributions.
"Without those guys we wouldn't have gotten this victory," Coles said.
