OXFORD — Miami University interim head coach Jermain Henderson said he feels "blessed" that the RedHawks' basketball season hasn't ended after all.
Miami will face the Tulsa Golden Hurricane on Wednesday, March 19, at Tulsa's Donald W. Reynolds Center in the first round of the inaugural College Basketball Invitational, a 16-team postseason tournament. Tip-off is at 8 p.m. Eastern time.

The RedHawks (17-15) lost their shot at an NCAA tournament berth when they were eliminated from the Mid-American Conference tournament in the semifinals with a 49-47 loss to Kent State, and they were not offered an invitation to the NIT.
"We're very appreciative and feel very blessed to keep playing," said Henderson, who is filling in for the remainder of the season for head coach Charlie Coles, who underwent heart surgery recently.
"We were a little disappointed we didn't go to the NIT, but we understood," Henderson added. "Akron was 26-6 last year and they didn't go to the NIT. Sometimes things bounce that way."
It's the fourth straight postseason berth for the RedHawks and the 24th in program history. The Golden Hurricane (20-13) and RedHawks have never met.
