OXFORD — Miami University's Michael Veatch and Dan Beach have been named the Mid-American Conference Track and Field Athletes of the Week.
Veatch, a senior from Middletown, won the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a NCAA provisional qualifying time of 9 minutes, 5.26 seconds last week the Southern Ohio Cup in Oxford.

Beach, a senior thrower from Arlington, Ohio, finished second in the hammer throw at the Southern Ohio Cup with a throw of 182 feet, 5 inches. He also was fourth in the discus (151-8).
