DAYTON — Former Miami RedHawk Nino Musitelli has signed with the Dayton Bombers of the ECHL for the 2008-09 season, Bombers head coach Bill McDonald announced Thursday, July 31.

As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"It feels great to get into the ECHL and to have this opportunity," Musitelli said. "I'm happy to play in Dayton. Plus, it's close to my alma mater."

Musitelli, a forward, played four years at Miami and was a member of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association championship team in 2006. In 133 career games as a RedHawk, Musitelli, a native of Macomb, Mich., scored 21 goals and had 37 assists for 58 points.

"We are very excited to have Nino join us this year," McDonald said. "He's got a nose for the net and doesn't mind getting his nose a little dirty."

The Bombers open the season at Oct. 18 at home against Cincinnati.
