Monday, August 04, 2008
OXFORD — The first Miami University football practice was postponed until today, Aug. 4, due to a scheduling error, a university spokesperson said.
The first practice originally was scheduled for Sunday.
The team will take the field at 4:45 p.m. today and each day through Friday.
Two-a-day sessions will begin Saturday (times will be determined later).
The public is invited to attend.
Miami's season will open at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 28 at home against Vanderbilt.
The RedHawks, who have 46 lettermen returning, are seeking their second straight Mid-American Conference East Division championship.
Miami shared last season's title with Bowling Green and Buffalo, finishing 5-2 in the MAC and 6-7 overall.
For the first time in school history the RedHawks will play six home games.
They also will play host to Charleston Southern (Sept. 13), Temple (Oct. 4), Kent State (Oct. 25), Ball State (Nov. 11) and Ohio (Nov. 28).
