CLEVELAND — Miami University's cross country team swept Mid-American Conference Runner of the Week honors for the first week of the season, the conference announced on Tuesday, Sept. 2.
Senior Pat Sovacool earned the men's award, while junior Laura Neufarth won the women's award.
Sovacool won the Dayton 5K Challenge on Aug. 30 in a time of 15 minutes, 22 seconds, leading Miami to its sixth straight team title in the event.
Neufarth also finished first at Dayton. She clocked a time of 18:15 to lead the RedHawks to their second straight team Dayton 5K team crown.
