Miami hockey ranked No. 8 in preseason poll

The Miami University hockey team is ranked No. 8 in the country in the USA Today and USA Hockey Magazine preseason college hockey poll released Monday, Sept. 22.
The ranking marks the 25th consecutive week the Miami hockey team has been ranked No. 8 or higher in a national poll. Over the past three seasons, no other team in the country has won more games or posted a better winning percentage than the RedHawks.
Miami's only exhibition game of the 2008-09 season will be held Oct. 4 when it plays host to Ryerson. Regular-season play begins Oct. 10 when Miami plays Ohio State in Columbus.
