Miami sweeps Notre Dame

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — The Miami hockey team wrapped up a weekend series sweep Saturday, Oct. 25 with a 3-2 over Notre Dame in Central College Hockey Association play.

The 10th-ranked RedHawks got goals from Gary Steffes, Justin Mercier and Alexandre Lacombe to improve to 3-1-2 overall and 3-0-1 in the CCHA. No. 8 Notre Dame falls to 2-3-0, 0-2-0.

Freshman goaltender Connor Knapp made 17 saves in goal to earn the win.

On Friday night, the RedHaks other freshman goalie — Cody Reichard — turned aside all 29 shots he faced in a 2-0 shutout victory.

Steffes and Pat Cannone scored goals. Andy Miele earned assists on both.
