RedHawks in a favorable spot

OXFORD — Miami University senior Michael Bramos said "it's anybody's game" in the Mid-American Conference East Division, and the facts back him up.
With just two games left in the regular season all six teams still have a shot at a first-round bye to the MAC tournament.
That includes the RedHawks, who face MAC East co-leader Bowling Green tonight, March 5, at Millett Hall and then will play the other co-leader, Buffalo, on the road Sunday.
The RedHawks seemed to be a team on their way to nowhere after losing by an average margin of 16.5 points in back-to-back losses at Evansville and Ohio.
But now, after ending a three-game losing streak with a 68-63 win over Kent State, Miami finds itself still sitting at the table holding some pretty good cards.
In the event Miami is involved in a tie for first, or a tie for one of the first-round byes, the RedHawks would have almost all of the tiebreaker advantages.
In fact, victories against Bowling Green and Buffalo would give the RedHawks their first regular-season championship since 2005.
