OXFORD — Miami University will open its football season against the Kentucky Wildcats at Cincinnati's Paul Brown Stadium on Sept. 5, Director of Athletics Brad Bates announced today, March 26.
The contest will be considered a home game for the RedHawks, who also will play five games at Yager Stadium.

All four non-conference foes appeared in bowl games last season and had a cumulative record of 39-14. Boise State went 12-0 during the regular season before losing to TCU in the Poinsettia Bowl.
"This schedule is a great opportunity to see how much we've improved from last season to this season," first-year Miami head coach Mike Haywood said. "Playing six of our first eight games against teams that played in bowl games last year will be challenging, but we're going to embrace t his opportunity."
"This schedule is an exciting way to open the Mike Haywood era of Miami football," Bates said. "Between our non-conference match-ups and our (Mid-American Conference) opponents, I feel we have created a schedule that will be both challenging and fun for our fans to watch."
Miami's home games against MAC opponents will be Oct. 24 against Northern Illinois. Oct. 31 against Toledo, Nov. 12 against Bowling Green and Nov. 18 against Buffalo.
Six of Miami's first seven games will be away from Yager Stadium, including the home-designated contest against Kentucky (which will be included in Miami's six-game season-ticket package).
The RedHawks' MAC road schedule will consist of trips Sept. 19 to Western Michigan, Sept. 26 to Kent State, Oct. 17 to Ohio and Nov. 15 to Temple.
