Buckeyes might face Vols again

By Dayton Daily News

Sunday, March 18, 2007

Top-seeded Ohio State's overtime escape against Xavier on Saturday earned the Buckeyes a spot in the Sweet 16 and a trip to San Antonio, Texas, where they play Thursday against either Tennessee or Virginia at a time to be determined. No. 4-seed Virginia and No. 5-seed Tennessee meet this afternoon at 12:10 (Ch. 7/12) at Nationwide Arena in Columbus.

OSU beat Tennessee, 68-66, on Jan. 13 at home, starting a 19-game winning streak.

Extras

Tennessee scored 121 points in beating Long Beach State on Friday, matching an NCAA tournament first-round record. Virginia, which crushed Albany in the first round, has vowed to show Tennessee what defense looks like today.

The Buckeyes will be paying rapt attention, to be sure.
