About Memphis
No. 5-ranked Memphis has won 25 straight. Coach John Calipari calls his offense a European-Princeton hybrid that just looks like driving and kicking. The Tigers are young with guard Jeremy Hunt (13.7 points per game) the only senior regular. They have some beef inside (Joey Dorsey weighs 260 pounds and sophomore Kareem Cooper is 290) and play tenacious defense. Beating Texas A&M in San Antonio should dispel doubts about the Tigers' schedule.
Buckeye facts
No. 1 Ohio State has won 20 in a row, the last an 85-84 comeback-from-20 thriller over Tennessee. That marked coach Thad Matta's 100th game at OSU (he's 79-21). Mike Conley owns the single-season team record for assists (224) and steals (81). OSU is 8-2 as a No. 1 NCAA tourney seed and 35-18 overall.
Matta's take
"They're high-powered on offense. They create a lot of their offense through their defense. ... And I think they play extremely hard, they rebound the ball well and get out and score easy baskets." — OSU coach Thad Matta
