Scouting the Gophers

2007: 1-11, 0-8 Big Ten

Last 5 years: 31-31, 15-25

Last bowl: 2006 Insight Bowl, 44-41 loss to Texas Tech

Positive vibes: Optimism surrounds Minnesota's new TCF Bank Stadium, which will open in 2009. The Gophers could use a better season to prepare, and they do return 15 starters.

Negative vibes: Tough to be optimistic after a one-win season, although Brewster is one of the more energetic coaches in the conference.
