Wanted one ticket

Wanted: One OSU ticket

Steve Hamant is a retired firefighter from Tipp City and a big Buckeyes fan. He's in Las Vegas on vacation, where he is enjoying the Mirage and trying to secure a ticket for tonight's Ohio State-Southern Cal game in Los Angeles — a four-hour drive from Sin City.

Our second progress report:

Hamant said the Mirage concierge unearthed a ticket, but Hamant turned it down because it cost $400. He's shopping more in the $225 range.

"I'm trying to be as thrifty as I can but still get what I need," Hamant said. "I wouldn't say I was cheap, but I can't pay $400. My wife wouldn't go for that."

He plans to drive to Los Angeles this morning, leaving his wife in Vegas.

Meanwhile, he encourages anyone with a ticket to spare to ring him on his cell phone, (937) 238-9216. Soon.
