Preview of today's Big Ten games

A look at today's Big Ten games:

No. 14 Ohio State (4-1, 1-0) at No. 18 Wisconsin (3-1, 0-1), 8 p.m.

Two bad omens for the Buckeyes: Wisconsin has won 16 straight home games and 21 of their last 22 night games. The Buckeyes have not been to Madison since 2003, which means nobody on Ohio State's roster has played in Camp Randall Stadium, which can be intimidating.

No. 6 Penn State (5-0, 1-0) at Purdue (2-2, 0-0), noon

Purdue looks to snap 15-game winless streak against ranked teams. Good luck. The Nittany Lions are fourth in the country in scoring (49.8 points per game), eighth in rushing (267.6 yards) and ninth in total offense (515.2).

Iowa (3-2, 0-1) at Michigan State (4-1, 1-0), noon

Home team has won the last eight meetings. Today, the home team has Heisman Trophy candidate Javon Ringer (Chaminade-Julienne High School), who leads the nation with an average of 179.4 rushing yards per game.

Indiana (2-2, 0-1) at Minnesota (4-1, 0-1), noon

Hoosiers haven't won in the Metrodome since 1993. Last week they unveiled a new offensive scheme with two quarterbacks on the field at the same time, and Kellen Lewis injured his foot on a play where he was a receiver. Who knows where that experiment stands?

Illinois (2-2, 0-1) at Michigan (2-2, 1-0), 3:30 p.m.

The last time Illinois played at Michigan was in 2003. UM has won six straight in the series and is coming off a come-from-behind upset over Wisconsin last week.
