Brian Roberts scored 21 points, Kurt Huelsman 12 and Marcus Johnson and Andres Sandoval 11 each to lead the Flyers, 22-10, who advance to the second round of the NIT against the winner of the Illinois State-Utah State game later tonight. The site and date are to be determined.
The Flyers had a 13-point lead with 7:42 to go, but the Vikings slowed them down and cut the deficit to six with 3:48 to go. But Cleveland State could get no closer. The Flyers made just enough free throws after that to close out the victory.
