How did ESPN2 do? Rate the coverage

> How well do you think ESPN handled the game?

The University of Dayton doesn't play games televised by ESPN2 very often, so it's understandable that the announcers might not recognize all the players. But you'd think they could tell red from pale gray.

The first few times Brian Roberts dribbled up court during the NIT game broadcast from Columbus on Wednesday night, March 26, the play-by-play guy identified Roberts as Ohio State star Jamar Butler. Butler was actually the player in gray guarding Roberts in his bright red road uniform.

Extras

The broadcast featured a few questionable pronunciations of player names, and some of the camera angles looked like the game was shot from the cheap seats in the upper deck.

ESPN2 did a decent job, even though they leaned towards the Buckeyes. By the way, Bucky and Larry are the play-by-play announcers for UD on the radio. I feel so bad for Bob because he had to use profanity to ask a question. He must be an OSU grad because UD students are taught better than that.

ESPN2 did an excellent job by giving credit to both the Flyers and the Buckeyes - a GREAT game. A note to “mfg” - who the hell is Bucky and Larry???? Sounds like two of the three stooges!!

I enjoyed it very much. Being from Dayton, I was in a win, win situation with a very slight edge to my hometown flyers. Being a 28 year vet in the United States Air Force, I really follow my Bucks and Flyers, especially when overseas. All in all very proud of the flyers, without those injuries, they would have been in the NCAA. The Buckeyes are young, I’ll be pulling for them to win the NIT! GO Flyers…GO Bucks!!!!

What a hard nosed investigative reporter this James Cummings must be. Shouldn’t you be reporting that the school cafeteria is selling the good meat and serving the bad meat to the students? Or that Fonzie is afraid of liver? If you are going to berate someone please identify that person. The “play by play guy” is a lazy term to use. Why don’t you do the research to find out his name? Well I will do your job for you, his name is Mike Turico!

Of all the inane “post your comments” requests from DDN, this is the most inane.

It only took a few seconds to realize the commenters were all Ohio State, so I stayed with Bucky and Larry. Even though it was a few seconds off.

It would be great if the talking heads on sports T V would talk about the games we are watching instead of what some person said about two weeks before, and to stick a mike into the face of a coach as he or she leaves the floor at half time with the stupid questions about what he or she is going to do in the second half, if the coaches had any backbone they would just go on to the locker room. Instead of answering stupid questions.
