Sidney, winless at 0-5, handed Northmont its second straight loss Friday night, 17-13. The winning score came with six minutes left when Thomas Slife caught a 25-yard scoring pass from Xavier Foy on a 4th-and-8.
Northmont (4-2) took the ensuing kickoff and drove to the Sidney 30 before losing a fumble with two minutes left. Sidney ran out the clock to break a 10-game losing streak over two seasons.

Miami East defeats Twin Valley South Miami East ended its 16-game losing streak while extending Twin Valley South's winless skid to 35 games with a 21-14 victory Friday night.
The winning score came with 11:53 left in the game on a 23-yard touchdown pass from Grant Westfall to David Helfelfinger, with Josh Matheson adding his third extra point kick.
The last win for South (0-6) was the opening game of the 2003 season, 14-6, over Dixie.

Chaminade-Julienne 23, Cin. Purcell Marian 0: Defense and the kicking game did the job as the Eagles evened their record at 3-3. The only offensive TD came in the first quarter on a five-yard pass from Kurt Hess to Travis Jackson. Cory Collins recovered a Purcell fumble in the end for a score and Zack Miller added field goals of 32, 42 and 41 yards.
Fairmont 15, Spg. South 8: The win was the fifth straight for the 5-1 Firebirds. Tailback Alex Gross was their main offensive weapon with 41 carries for 213 yards and touchdown runs of 44 and 1 yards.
Fairborn 35, Greenville 24: QB Josh Copeland again was the focal point of the offense for the Skyhawks (5-1), who have won five straight. He rushed 27 times for 193 yards and one TD and was 11 of 21 passing for 131 yards and three TDs.
Tippecanoe 41, Bellefontaine 12: Adrew Ford set a school record of 303 yards on 25 carries as the Red Devils improved to 5-1.
Wayne 55, Spg. North 6: Steve Curtis has TD runs of 36 and 85 yards as the Warriors (4-1) built up a 27-0 halftime lead.
Centerville 38, Beavercreek 24: The Beavers made a game of it after trailing 24-0 by rallying to within 31-23. Taneareus Collins caught a 42-yard pass from David Fleming to ice the win for the Elks.
Xenia 24, Miamisburg 22: Aston Jackson had 233 yards rushing and a TD for the Bucs.
Colonel White 62, Cin. Hughes 36: Steve Surles went over 1,000 yards rushing with 245 yards on 25 carries and four TDs for the 5-1 Cougars, who had 503 yards rushing. Taj Barton added 133 yards rushing and Ryan Jones 101.
Belmont 28, Jefferson 24: Dementrius Trapp scored three times as the Bison snapped a 13-game skid over two seasons.
Greeneview 20, Southeastern 7: The Rams broke an 18-game losing streak. Mike Arn scored twice on short runs and Blake Benedict had an 80-yard kickoff return for score.
Oakwood 34, Brookville 7: Mitch Jones rushed 12 times for 142 yards and three TDs and Chris Hardy added 110 yards on 26 tries for the 4-2 Lumberjacks.
Bellbrook 28, Valley View 14: Jared Edwards carried 30 times for 133 yards and two touchdowns as Eagles (4-2) hand Valley View (1-5) its third straight loss. Ryan Rutledge added touchdown passes of 17 and 34 yards to Taylor Ralston. Mitch Howard had a 95-yard kickoff return to score for Valley View.
Waynesville 53, Dixie 30: Seth Miller scored four TDs as the Spartans improved to 5-1.
Preble Shawnee 34, Northridge 13: Logan Cottingim had a pair of touchdown passes for the Arrows.
Franklin 28, Mid. Madison 0: Dustin Hunt had two interceptions and a fumble recovery as the Wildcats took advantage of 10 Madison turnovers. Nick Braden had three TDs.
Marion Local 35, Versailles 14: Matt Otte ran for 171 yards and Chris Stucke was 9-of-13 passing for 181 yards as the Flyers (4-2) won their third straight.
Greenon 49, Stebbins 14: Steve Jackson rushed for 268 yards and four TDs for the Knights, who had 482 yards rushing as a team.
Fort Loramie 41, Dayton Christian 27: Both teams put up some big numbers as Loramie (5-1) won its fifth straight. Jordan Goldschmidt had six pass receptions for 173 yards and four TDs for the winners. Roger Smith had 207 yards rushing and two TDs and kickoff returns of 80 and 73 yards for scores for DC.
