Springboro stops Fairborn, still perfect in GWOC South.

Springboro maintained its lead in the Southern Division of the Greater Western Ohio Conference with a 62-50 defeat of Fairborn in Friday night's boys high school basketball.

The Panthers (6-3) lead the division at 3-0. Aaron Stonecash was their leading scorer with 18 points. Josh Copeland had 20 for Fairborn (1-8, 0-3).

Miamisburg 53, Lebanon 45: Sky Grieshop scored 18 points, Ben Wieland 16 and Dylan Crouse 10 as the Vikings (4-5) stayed in a second-place tie in the GWOC South at 2-1. Derek Helleman had 22 points for Lebanon.

Sidney 67, Vandalia Butler 65: Josh Topp hit four 3-pointers in the final nine minutes to help Sidney (4-6, 3-1 GWOC North) open a nine-point lead that Vandalia (2-7, 1-3) could not overcome.

Carroll 60, Cin. McNicholas 58: A.J. Ferguson capped off a good effort by hitting an insurance free throw with four seconds left. He had 13 points to go with 10 rebounds for the 2-6 Patriots.

Cin. Elder 61, Chaminade-Julienne 49: The Eagles (5-4) led 27-23 at halftime but had a massive sinking spell on offensive in the third quarter — scoring only seven points — and fell behind for good 42-34. Brian Scott was their leading scorer with 18. Kyle Rudolph had 20 points for Elder (8-1).

Milton-Union 67, Brookville 50: The win keeps the Bulldogs (5-2) in the lead in the SWBL Southwestern Division at 4-0. Mitchell Evans was their leading scorer with 16.

Bellbrook 57, Eaton 26: The Eagles won for the fourth time in the last five games and are 3-1 in the SWBL Southwest Division. Matt Farler led the winners with 16 points.

Franklin 48, Valley View 45: Franklin had good ball movement with Troy Lakes handing out seven assists and Mark Dwyer six.

Preble Shawnee 49, Monroe 48 (OT): Shawnee handed Monroe (5-1) its first loss. That creates a three-way tie for first place in the SWBL Buckeye with Monroe, Madison and Dixie at 4-1. Will Messer had 23 points and 10 rebounds for the winners.

Dixie 43, Northridge 41: Jared Moore scored 12 points, Cooper Mohr 11 and Nick Bertke 10 for the winners.

Dunbar 65, Cin. Western Hills 51: Aaron Pogue had 18 points and 17 rebounds, and Norris Cole 17 points for the Wolverines (8-1, 3-0 Southwest Ohio Public League).

Cin. Hughes 59, Colonel White 52: Juwan Staten dropped in 20 points and Deonte Miller 10 as the Cougars (2-5) lost on the road.

West Carrollton 69, Stebbins 45: Mason Reynolds scored 14 points and Matt Morgan 12 as the Pirates (2-6) won this nonconference game. Al White had 16 points for Stebbins (5-4).

Jefferson 84, Xenia Christian 39: Terry Heard had 19 points and eight rebounds as the Broncos (7-2) kept the lead in the Metro Buckeye Conference at 5-0.

Dayton Christian 67, Miami Valley 35: Aaron Deister scored 19 points and Mike Farrell 16 for DC. Sean Malarkey had 14 points for Miami Valley.

Yellow Springs 69, Mid. Christian 54: Kilan Brown had a career-high 32 points while Antonio Woodard had 13 points and 18 rebounds for the 2-4 Bulldogs.

Ansonia 58, Bethel 53: The Tigers (9-1) won their eighth straight to keep the lead in the Cross County Conference at 6-0. Only four players scored for the winners, but Eric Beisner had 25, Brad McEldowney 18 and Logan Beam 13. Tony Phillips had 15 points for Bethel (5-3, 3-2).

Twin Valley South 77, Bradford 18: The Panthers (7-2) outscored the Railroaders 20-0 in the first quarter en route to their fifth straight win. Steve Summers was their top scorer with 16.

Russia 68, Botkins 47: Brook Schafer had 16 points and Chett Borchers 12 as the Raiders, No. 1 in the DDN Division IV ratings, moved to 9-0. They lead the Shelby County League at 6-0 and play Ansonia tonight.
